What is a PTFE filter bag?

PTFE membranes (commonly referred to as "Teflon") have been widely used in cookware for 60 years due to their excellent non-stick properties. It is also very useful when applied to outerwear as it is both waterproof and breathable. When viewed up close under a microscope, PTFE material is covered with tiny pores that look similar to Swiss cheese. These tiny holes allow steam and gases (such as air and water vapor) to pass easily through the material, while preventing denser materials, including liquids, and dust particles from passing through, making them ideal filters for dust collector applications. PTFE was first developed in the early 1940s and quickly proved its usefulness in many applications, such as coatings for valves and pipes carrying highly reactive uranium hexafluoride, for the production of uranium. The Manhattan Project during World War II. In addition to its most famous non-stick coating applications for cookware, PTFE is used in many industrial and commercial applications that require low friction and high durability, such as bearings, gears, etc.

How does a PTFE filter bag work?

To give you an idea of how PTFE dust filter bags accomplish these tasks, let's first look at how a standard filter bag works. On a standard bag, dust accumulates on the outside of the bag, forming what's called a filter cake. The filter cake is actually filtered and the bagged fabric serves only as a support for the filter cake. As the bag is pulsed, most of the cake is released, and dust begins to build up again. However, over time, some dust becomes deeply embedded in the bag fibers. Eventually, the bag will become completely clogged and will need to be replaced. Instead, WHEN PTFE is added to the bag, it ACTS as a filter cake. Commonly known as teflon. PTFE is used in many different applications from cookware to coats. When PTFE film is pressed on the filter bag medium, the performance of the filter bag and dust collecting system can be enhanced. Let's take a closer look at how PTFE membrane works. If we zoom in on the PTFE membrane, we can see that it's actually made of tiny pores, like Swiss cheese. The holes are large enough to let air molecules and steam through, but small enough to stop even the smallest dust particles from passing through.

What are the advantages of a PTFE filter bag?

Because the film keeps the dust on the surface of the bag, the particles never become embedded in the bag fiber, and the bag won't fail due to clogging. Generally, PTFE film bags will wear out before they are plugged. It usually lasts twice as long as a standard package. Service life doubled, costly replacement and plant downtime halved, reducing maintenance costs and increasing plant production. Another benefit of PTFE bags is that they provide a more consistent air flow or suction from the dust collecting system, as the bags do not clog up over time. PTFE dust filter bags are eight times more efficient than standard filter bags due to their small pore size. This means that it can reduce dust collector emissions by up to 800%.

Another advantage of PTFE dust filter bags is that they are easier to clean due to their smooth surface. This means less pulsation in the bag, which means less wear on the bag and on the diaphragm and solenoid valves. This also means that the system USES less compressed air, which reduces energy costs. It can also improve performance in the presence of higher moisture content or sticky dust. PTFE film can be added to any packaging medium and can replace standard packaging as well as almost any application. Despite the increased cost of the membrane, the additional cost can be easily offset by longer service life, reduced maintenance costs, reduced wear and tear, and reduced emissions.

If you want to double the life of the filter bag, reduce dust bag wear and reduce maintenance costs, then the PTFE dust filter bag can meet your requirements perfectly. If you are looking for a high-quality PTFE dust filter bag at a reasonable price,Jiangsu Aokai Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. will provide you with the best products.
